Intentional Clutch Care Instructions.

Intentional Clutch Care Instructions.

Caring intentionally for the hand-painted surface of the clutch will maintain the beauty of its crystal infused finish as it patinas. All things age to some degree or another, but with proper care and intention, all things have the potential to age vibrantly. Our clutches are no different.

Their unique artistic quality responds well to regular surface cleaning with a clean cloth, mild detergent or with a white pencil eraser.

I use a couple of drops of Seventh Generation unscented dish detergent in a bowl with clean water infused with a Quartz crystal to clean surface dirt from the outside. For random marks, I will use a white pencil eraser. I always rub the eraser on a sheet of paper first to avoid marking up my Selenite or Rose Quartz clutch with graphite.

Check your clutch regularly for essential oil leaks. We have double interfaced the interior of the clutch to avoid degradation of the outside surface by essential oils, but bigger leaks will transfer to the outside of the clutch. If you notice a leak, empty your clutch as soon as possible and put it opened in a sunny window for a few days. Flip the clutch so the inside and the outside both get some sunshine to ensure the essential oil evaporates completely. Do not rub any suspected oil leaks. Evaporation is truly the best option.

Avoid putting your clutch in unlined dyed leather handbags or in bags that have a lot of residual dirt, the textured surface will pick up dyes and dirt by rubbing on the inside of the bag. Our clutches stand up to daily use very well, with a little bit of consideration.

Over filling your clutch may cause the elastics and zipper to get stressed before their time. We have designed the interior to hold four 15ml bottles on the tag side and six 10ml rollers on the other side, but many people put more oils inside. This is totally up to the individual and we love seeing all of the ways people are using their beloved Oil Clutches, just know that our original intention and prototyping had those amounts in mind and the clutch performs best if smaller items are placed in the peripheral elastic spaces. For instance, keeping Correct X or lip balms in the outer elastics.

I hope this helps you care for your clutch so it will serve you well for a long time. As always, contact us with any questions. I love connecting with you!
